I never really listened to Animal Collective before I heard the song Peacebone. The new album is great, but that song is really very amazing. So is the music video. I'm in love with the girl in this video because of three reasons: she likes to have fun, she drives a Corvette, she could love a monster like me. Peacebone makes me want to dance wildly.

I spent last night at Best Buy moving the entire Contemporary Christian CD section. Lately we haven't been selling an awful lot of Gospel or Contempo Christian CDs, but we continue to receive shipments of them. I guess maybe people have lost faith or are downloading Jesus.mp3s. This has led to an unholy mess in these two sections. Total chaos. So to make room, I had to shift and sort and finagle Contemporary Christian from between Gospel and Jazz to between Country and Folk, directly across the aisle. I'd say that's about 650-700 Christian titles ranging from John Tesh Live at Red Rocks to Hip-Hope 2007. Ironically, it was hellish task. I can't imagine how many times I said "god damn it" without regard for the genre.

So now Contempo Christian is in a new place, in perfect order, and there's room to spread out Gospel, which I think Bethany is doing right now. Praise the Lord.

I also farmed the Folk and Blues sections, shifting both to make room for Reggae. I enjoyed my time with the Blues CDs. Blues guys have the best names. Lightnin' this and Mississippi that. Watermelon Slim. Popa Chubby. Susan Tedeschi. Poopin' Skat Shenoy. I made up that third one.
