If you want to understand the pain I'm in, drive a nail into your left shoulder and tie a string around the base of your left pointer finger until it goes numb. This is the most resilient pain I've experienced. It's been hurting big time for a long time. And I just plum want it to go away.
I was thinking about the fine print disclaimers that show up at the bottom of car commercials. They almost always say, "Closed course. Do not attempt." This is a mixed message. I can understand why they wouldn't advocate driving like a maniac or crashing cars into brick walls at 60 mph. In such cases, the disclaimer is a valuable tool. But being that the disclaimer shows up in every commercial, it seems as if car companies don't advocate doing anything besides idling in a parking lot. There was one in which a person parallel parks a tremendous SUV with ease. The course was closed and we shouldn't attempt this unless we are "professional drivers." It was a lot more revelatory when I thought about it. maybe I'm just not communicating my point well enough.
I can't write. Sorry.
