I don't want to talk about Tony anymore.
Oct. 15th, 2007 02:25 pmI'm building a maze. It's for a music video and my friend Amanda's rat is going to traverse it. It's built, but unfinished.

I made it out of expired foam board posters from Best Buy. Every Sunday the posters and sales signs change, and it's my job to change them. My coworkers, for the more popular movies and TV shows, claim the posters buy tagging the backs. I was tagging ones for Sex and the City and Wild Hogs and Fracture. I used glue, an X-acto knife, straight pins, and heavy books as weights. It looks all right, I think.
Today I bought a Dremel rotary tool to even out the seams and edges. After trying 5 or 6 different attachments, I realized it's way too powerful for use on foam board. I was planning on sanding all the walls and then spray painting it, what color I hadn't decided. But as soon as I admitted defeat to the Dremel, I had an epiphany. I'm going to wallpaper the walls and carpet the floor, maybe decorate it with miniature paintings and potted plants to make it look like an endless hotel hallway, a la The Shining.
So I'm going to have to go shopping for wallpaper and carpeting and miniatures. I'm gonna look so gay. I need to bring a girl or something, but I don't think I have one. Maybe my mom, but that might be even gayer than going solo.
I really need to hurry, though. Amanda's rat, Latte, is pretty old. It hobbles more than it scuttles. It had a gigantic tumor removed from its abdomen, so there's a scar running along its side. It's pretty much the best rat I could find, never mind it being the only rat I could find. I've been working on this so far for about 3 weeks. Wallpaper and carpeting could take who knows how much longer. Maybe I should take a vacation from Best Buy to wrap this whole thing up.
I need a hobby.
