I got a new cell phone. It's one of those deals that flips open and has a qwerty keyboard and all. It plays mp3s and also takes 15-second video clips. I directed a short film called "The Government C.I.A. Conspiracy" starring Nick Psillas as Concerned CIA Operative #1 and Paige Hill as Government Agent Antoinette Ahmed-McGinty. It's some of the best work I've ever done in my life.

I shot that and the sequel together. Do you want to see the sequel?

I've never been as tempted to follow along with a meme as I am right now. And I rarely, if ever, succumb to these temptations. But whatever.

Here are the first sentences of the first posts of every month this year:

January: Sometimes I get these dreams about having to go to gym class.
February: I missed the my [sic] first class of the semester today.
March: A while ago I invented a new letter for the English alphabet.
April: The Muppet Show brought me to tears today.
May: I went to Kevin's wake today and felt like such a phony.
June: I had my recurring awesome dream where I can jump insane distances.
July: I've had this thing, so far this summer, where I can't sleep past 12pm, no matter how late I go to sleep.
August: I got Netflix recently and here are the movies I've seen so far with brief reviews
September: A few weeks ago, I was on the Hofstra University campus and I was listening to a conversation between some girl and a dude.
October: My time at Best Buy for the past two and a half weeks was worth a cool $415 US
November: Todd Solondz is a fucking sicko fucko perverted mad genius.
December: I got home about 40 minutes ago, at 2:20, from Best Buy.

Well that wasn't nearly as satisfying as I thought it would be.

I got my 90-day review from Best Buy today. Apparently I meet all the expectations they have from me. So I'm not getting fired any time soon, which is a mixed blessing.

Every customer at Best Buy gets full screen DVDs. People are idiots. You don't need a widescreen television to view widescreen movies. All you need is tolerance of the black bars and knowledge that the image you see is the image the filmmakers wanted you to see when they made the movie. People say, "but the black bars..." And I tell them, "I like the black bars." I told this lady that I thought they were romantic today. The conversation shouldn't have gotten as far as it did.

I'm masking my AVF47 movie at a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, which is the best and will also make my movie the best. Except for it's due on Thursday and I haven't even gotten all of my film back from the lab. Shitting fuck. But I bought AVID Xpress Pro from journeyed.com at $295. It usually costs over $1,000. So I'll be able to do all my editing bareass naked in my room at whatever time I damn please instead of fully clothed and at school with those Hofstra suckers. I have roughly half of it edited so far, and it looks good. But I still have 5 rolls of film I haven'y seen and I haven't recorded any sound at all for it. I may very well be fucked at least 1/3 of the way up my ass if things don't go well. A lot of people in my class are in similar boats, though.

I've gained a lot of respect for a lot of film students at Hofstra. For the most part, I think they're all jerks. But one of the most important bits of knowledge I've gotten from making this shitty student film is that it takes a lot of time, effort, and money to make a movie shot on film and the only real reward you get as a student filmmaker is that you've made a movie. It's just nice to know that these people, if I'm imagining correctly, are going under the same stress as am I. And this is the most stress I've ever been under as far as school work is concerned. It's just a pity that my film is going to jettison all of theirs out of Earth's atmosphere because of how much better it is. I hope I don't have to pay the doctor's bills of everyone whose eyeballs explode after watching my movie. I'll never have to pay another cent to get women because it's just going to be a natural reaction of all the babes who watch it to want a night alone with Satyajit and from there who knows?

Also, I have a shit of a lot of writing of essays to do by Tuesday. Somewhere around 44 pages. Which is why I'm drinking beer and updating my journal right now.
