Get Rid Of Slimey girlS
Feb. 10th, 2005 08:04 amToday is going to be an uncomfortable day. For one thing, it's pissing rain outside. For another, I can't seem to rid my nostrils of nose goblins. I've tried blowing, picking, and yelling at my nose, but nothing. So there's that. And there's also the fact that I'm sweating like an Hispanic landscaper. Anything else? Sure. Am I going to write about it? No way, Hozet.
Something strange is afoot at the intersection of Weidner Ave. and Lawson Blvd. You see, where I live is somewhat secluded from the rest of Oceanside; my neighborhood, referred to as Ocean Harbor, is across Long Island Rail Road tracks. See:

OK. Now. The light at Weidner and Lawson is entirely too much in favor of the traffic on Lawson. Not only are the green lights to cross Lawson far apart, but the window of opportunity is only 10 seconds.
Alright. So the odds are in favor of having to wait at this light before making the left turn onto Lawson (which I do). Odds are also in favor of there being 5-10 vehicles waiting to do the same thing.
And I pose this question: why is there always traffic--enough to allow only 3 or 4 vehicles to make the left turn onto Lawson after the oncoming traffic passes--coming INTO Ocean Harbor, a strictly residential neighborhood, at 7:30 in the morning? The way I see it, most people in Ocean Harbor would LEAVE the neighborhood in the morning (between 7am and 10am), spend their day in the Outside (commercial) World, and RETURN from wherever they were in the evening (between 4pm and 7pm). Where were these people that they are ENTERING Ocean Harbor from the Outside World? One or two or three vehicles I could understand. But not as many as there actually are.
And now I'm going to revise a paper that was due last semester so I can hand it in and get rid of that nasty INCOMPLETE. My whole life is INCOMPLETE. My whole life was due last semester. My whole life is revise a paper.
