Staring into glassy eyes mesmerized
Nov. 9th, 2004 11:21 amI used the words 'akimbo' and 'aquiesce' last night. I'd never used either of those words in conversation before. The people I said those words to didn't know what they meant, so I wasn't sure that I used them correctly until just now when I looked them up.
My idiot professor Salmaggi had a self-reflective epiphany yesterday. He said something, in so many words, "I should have taught this class better. We've wasted so much time. What chapter are we on?" I could have easily stopped at "I should have taught this class." There's no modifier for "taught" in that sentence, because there's no "taught" to begin with. People like him because they think he tells it like it is and throws in curses and Italian idioms every so often for effect. People are idiots. He mentioned in one class how he rides a motorcycle. I laughed out loud. This guy is like 60 years old, he has a hacking cough from smoking notoriously, and it seems like he's going to drop dead from either cancer or stupidity at any time. How fucking pretentious, deceptive, manipulative, idiotic do you have to be to admit that a motorcycle is your means of transportation. You teach (poorly) at Hofstra University, where the students are dumb as bricks and the hiring process involves throwing darts blindfold at a list of potential teachers. That girl from my marketing class, I called her Sasha, is in this class. But I'm totally over her. I can tell she's stuck up because she looks right at me with no acknowledgment. I guess it's because I don't wear A|X. Girls like guys who wear A|X. I like girls who suck face at the drop of a hat. I need to start carrying a hat around with me.
