I went to work at 11:45 am last night. That was a deadly mistake. I was scheduled for 6 pm and had totally forgotten about it. On top of that mess, I had to take a cab to work because my dad is borrowing my car. He got into an accident, which is another story entirely. So there I was in Rockville Centre, 6 hours early for work, and 7 dollars poorer than I was before the cab ride. I had nothing more to do than gallavant around RVC like a man-about-town.
I thought maybe I'd be able to catch a matinee in either of two movie theaters in town, but they both open at 6, the bastards. So instead I went to Parrots of the World to look at birds and pet puppies. They had a few magestic and exotic birds and adorable puppies. I left that place with a smile on my face. Because I stole a bunch of money.
Then I went to the book store next door and bought the following:
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - Outbound
DJ Shadow - Preemptive Strike
"How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie
"Hell's Angels" be Hunter S. Thompson
"Singular Travels, Campaigns, and Adventures of Baron Munchausen" by R.E. Raspe and others
"The U.S. Armed Forces Survival Manual"
Then I went to CD Island and got Live Phish vol.17 - 7-15-98 Portland, Oregon. It's a really good one.
Beh.
